We cracked out the HD camera last night with superior sound. So, you can hear the rope and chain slap the flag pole. We all had a great time at the April NWItweetup at Blue Chip Casino, the best gambling and night spot in NW Indiana.

For May, we are headed to Albanese Candy factory on US 30 between Valparaiso and Merrillville, this is truly a family affair because after wards. We are going to flash mob Zao Island in Valpo for pizza and putt putt golf, go-cart racing and batting cages.

So I told Daver that it couldn’t be done. All he heard was a challenge.

I told him Blue Chip Casino wouldn’t even take our call.

So Daver went and got us a night in the “It’s Vegas, Baby” room.

And to put the cherry on top, Brandswag CEO and author of “Twitter Marketing for Dummies,” – Indianapolis’ Kyle Lacy Brandswag will stick around after his Indiana SBDC speech and attend the NWITweetup. (Thank Dalton).

It’s official:  The April 2010 #NWITweetup will take place at none other than the “It’s Vegas, Baby,” club at Blue Chip Casino just off Lake Michigan in Michigan City, IN. Kyle Lacy will be on hand for a book signing. Food will be provided. And I’m sure the boat would love to give us drinks to but of I’m knowledge of IGC rules is accurate, then they’re not allowed to comp with drinks.

Come eat, drink, play, commune, enjoy and live it up in what could be #NWITweetups most exciting event yet.

The Dave Woodson Challenge

Daver promised the boat 75. We’ve been close. We thought we’d be able to join up with Michiana Tweetup but they scheduled one for Granger (at least one of the two outlets did). But now Daver needs you help.

We don’t want 75, we want 100! 100 attendees. Bring your friends, you family, your colleagues, bring your poker face, bring your happy-go-lucky self, bring your sense of adventure, BRING IT ALL! Finn finally finished getting the desired plugins onto the nwitweetup site and has finally, after two announcing he would do so twice, is announcing the NWITweetup Logo design contest.

The contest starts….now.

The rules are simple.

1. Unless we hear otherwise, submissions should be sent to nwitweetup@gmail.com no later than the start of the February 2010 Tweetup (which will be announced soon). If you are close but don’t have it quite right and still want more time, please let us know. Please make the image sent a jpeg, but have the original be a hi-res design that can be used in multifarious ways
2. The logo will be property of nwitweetup.com. The winner gets to claim credit for designing it, but nwitweetup.com gets to use it on the site and other online tools such as twitter, flickr, facebook…
3. The winner will receive a healthy supply of free food and drink from the nwitweetup.com admins – we’ll be extra generous – during the March 2010 NWITweetup. Knowing us, we’ll probably do it for the April Tweetup as well.
4. The winner’s design doesn’t guarantee that the logo will be used. More than like it will be – percent chances in the high 90% area. But who knows…CYA rule
5. Though a comp of nwitweetup.com isn’t in the contest, designing one with color scheme and logo doesn’t hurt your chances.
6. Once finalists are announced, the tweeps will be able to vote to decide the winner

Last night, We held the monthly #NWITweetup at Buffalo Wild Wings in Portage, Indiana.  I really do not know where to start.  The staff and management were incredible to say the least.

I got there early and the waitress remembered me from the day before and knew right away what I liked to drink.  We were given free appetizers as the early crowd trickled in.

We had many new faces there as it was the first #nwitweetup of 2010.  I am a little scared that the bar has been set high for the rest of the year.   There was more networking at this Tweetup as we take it in a new direction to make it more of networking/social gathering.

Truly, taking the online – offline.  One new comer told me that he felt there was more business to business networking being done there last night as compared to other local networking groups that meet weekly.  We were expecting nearly 60, but as NW Indiana is NW Indiana weather did creep up and put a slight damper on attendance.

Again, I want to thank the Staff and Management of Buffalo Wild Wings in Portage.  They have a great menu with more than just chicken wings and a full bar.  Take out orders are available as well.
